The Caring Congregation
The Caring Congregation is a team trained and equipped to share the love of Christ with someone who’s in the hospital, a care center or homebound. Our team believes care ministry is the heart of a church’s mission—essential to its health and growth. Inspired by Jesus, the ultimate healer, the team offers intentional, Christ-centered care through life’s celebrations and challenges. Contact our Pastor for more information.
GriefShare
A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way. While everyone’s response to loss is unique, people facing loss and grief will experience many of the same challenges. The weekly GriefShare topics address these common struggles—providing valuable tips, encouragement, and direction. This group meets on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Library.
KrisKrafters
Members of KrisKrafters believe it is truly a blessing to be able to give. We support many charities throughout the year with labors of love by our skillful and dedicated members. Some of the charities we donate to include Solace Hospice, Veterans Furniture Center, and Justa Center. Our prayer shawl ministry, which combines knitting or crocheting with prayers to create comfort and love for those in need, is also very important to us. KrisKrafters hosts an annual Holidaze Craft Fair each fall, the proceeds of which help provide materials for items donated to charities. This group meets the first, third and fifth Thursdays of the month at 9:00 a.m.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are trained members of our congregation who provide compassionate, one-to-one care for individuals experiencing a crisis or navigating a difficult season of life. A Stephen Minister meets privately with the person they are supporting once a week for about an hour. This caring, confidential relationship continues for as long as it is needed.
United Women in Faith (UWFaith)
UWFaith is open to all women of the church, as well as friends and neighbors of Willowbrook.
United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Winsome Widows
Women in Winsome Widows have lost their husbands and join this ministry for fellowship with other widows. The women play games, enjoy meals, and take short field trips together. This group meets on the second and fourth Saturdays each month at various places and times.
