Rev. Lois Hedden shares some very interesting identifying information about the Seasons within the Church Year prior to moving into her message on the amazing faith of three different people in the Bible. God called Abraham when he was very old and told him to take his family and move to a totally different region, promising he would become the father of many nations. At the age of ninety with no children, Abraham could have refused to go. Instead, by faith he trusted God and moved. Through his faith, Abraham’s son Isaac became the father of the 12 tribes of Israel.
A ruler named Jairus came to Jesus saying his daughter was sick. He expressed faith by asking Jesus to come and touch her and she would become well. On his way to the ruler’s house a woman who had been very sick for 12 years in faith moved toward Jesus with the thought that if she could only touch the hem of his garment she would be healed. When she touched the hem of His garment and was healed, Jesus turned to her and said, “Daughter, Your faith has made you well.”
When Jesus and the disciples arrived at the home of Jairus, the mourning supporters were there crying and saying the girl was dead. Jesus told the crowd to leave because the girl was not dead. They laughed at him. He and the disciples went into the room where the girl lay. He took her by the hand and she stood up.
Jairus had heard about Jesus. In Faith he came to ask for help for his daughter.
The woman with the issue had heard about Jesus. In Faith she touched the hem of his garment.
We HEAR lots of things. LISTEN Closely! MOVE in Faith!
None of these people were perfect living perfect lives without sin. Each of them was flawed, just as we are flawed. God still honors the faith of his followers. Will you believe? Will you trust Him? Will you MOVE?
