Sharing several examples of doubt experienced by the disciples following the death of Jesus and as they encountered Him in resurrected form, Rev. Gary Kennedy then shares thoughts on trust; themselves as they move forward and of Jesus' promise to be with theml Jesus told the disciples before His death and now following his resurrection that He will be with them always. On numerous occasions, Jesus reminds them and us, He will be with us at all times. Recognizing how difficult it was to trust this truth, Jesus gave one final promise and challenge to the disciples in Matthew 28:18-20. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.”

Faced with this promise and this challenge, our battle cry should be, "And Here We Go!
Pastor Kennedy challenges us to approach our lives, our influence, our challenges, and our opportunities with a positive outlook. Be a Glass Half-full person. Learn something new. Do something new. Go with God. Trust God.
Rev. Gary Kennedy presents an illuminating message on the history of Pentecost and a challenge to the church today.
In an encouraging and uplifting message, Rev. Ruth Blum uses many scripture references to point out ways to overcome anxiety. The World Health Organization states that right now in the year 2023 3.6% (approximately 264 million) of the world population suffer from some sort of anxiety disorder.
In 1 Peter 5:6-11 we find a message God gave Peter to share with people who were experiencing persecution for their faith or because they would not conform to the "norms" of their society. He reminded people that they/we will have trouble but we are to "cast our anxiety on Jesus."
Thinking about Mother's Day, Rev. Gary Kennedy shares memories of dressing up and wearing a tie for Mother's Day and wearing or receiving a red carnation if mother was living or a white carnation if not. While not everyone had a positive experience with their earthly mother, God is always faithful in his love and care for us. His "parental" love is perfect.
Mary Magdalene had a dark past, but when Jesus set her free from her demons she felt free to go and tell her friends "Jesus is Alive!" Because of Easter YOU are also free to share His love with your friends. What a joyful noise we can make together!
In John 14:21 Jesus says, " . . . if you love me, keep my commandments." But he did not leave us to do it alone. He left the Holy Spirit to help us. We are reminded that there are moments when we get a "gut feeling" we should call or visit someone and when we follow through we discover the person is going through a crisis and welcomes the call or visit with gratitude. We then have the "AHA moment" realizing it was a prompting from the Holy Spirit.

The lessons of a good parent are also like lessons from God. Many of us do things because of lessons we received from our mothers or mother figures. "Drink your milk, wear a sweater, take your umbrella . . ." These lessons from Mom are because she loves us. God's lessons are because he loves us. In Ephesians chapter six we are reminded to "get dressed" with the whole armor of God. Quoting from several historical leaders, Pastor Kennedy shares that a good mother is the often best teacher. Mothers and mother figures are important in our spiritual growth. If you have opportunity to be a mother figure to someone, take advantage of the opportunity and bless someone's life.
