Rev. Ruth Blum opens with a demonstration of the miracle of breathing which we do without thought. She encouraged breathing in Blessings from God. Deep breathing exercises provide a feeling of cleansing and peace. Look at 1 Peter 1:6-7 [ In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffer various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith—being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.] Peter, in this long, run-on sentence points out Christians have a promise of an Abundant, Living Hope because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This was an important message to the Christians who were under constant persecution in his day. It is important today as Christians are once again under attack from several different directions. We have an inheritance from Jesus Christ of a new birth, living hope and God’s protection. What a precious gift!
